Methodology
This calculator finds the Moon's geocentric position using the astronomy-engine library, then converts it from the tropical zodiac to the sidereal zodiac using the Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard reference in Vedic and KP astrology. The Moon's sidereal nakshatra at birth sets the starting Mahadasha lord and the balance of years remaining in that first Mahadasha. All Dasha periods use 365.25-day years. Results depend on birth-time accuracy: an error of a few minutes can shift Antardasha boundaries by weeks, and an error of an hour or more can shift them by months. If the birth time is uncertain or unknown, birth time rectification narrows it down before relying on Antardasha-level timing.
